No matter where you are in Wales you’ll never be far from some excellent hiking routes with spectacular scenery. We have everything from dramatic mountain peaks to gently rolling hills. You can go walking on windswept sea cliffs or take a gentle riverside stroll.

Wales has three National trails and literally thousands of miles of footpaths that pass through a fantastic variety of diverse and unforgettable landscapes. The possibilities are endless!

Probably the best places to go walking in Wales are: Snowdonia, Mid-Wales, Pembrokeshire and the Brecon Beacons. Having said that, there aren’t many places in Wales that don’t have good walking opportunities.

You can go walking all year round. If you go off-season, you’ll have the countryside all to yourself. In Autumn and Spring, the colours are amazing. If you go during winter, you’ll need to be confident of your skill before heading off into the mountains.

A qualified guide can take you in a group along trails that are properly suited to your abilities and fitness levels. It normally costs around £35 a day.
